Why I Built This
I’m a software engineer and an endurance athlete. After an injury, surgery, and months of physiotherapy, I had a practical between-appointment problem: my remote physio sometimes needed movement clips to review.
The process was awkward. I would prop up the phone, walk into frame, record, and then discover that the requested angle was wrong. Preparing a group of clips added another repetitive step before I could use the sharing channel we had agreed on.
So I built Live Video Feedback. The Mac provides the QR code and the large monitor. You scan first, allow the phone camera, and then position the phone while watching the framing. Recording, review, naming, trimming, and export stay together in the desktop app.
The point is not for software to judge movement. LVF does not verify form, diagnose a condition, prevent injury, guarantee safety, or replace practitioner judgment. It removes avoidable friction from a practitioner-directed recording workflow.
LVF is local-first: recordings, filenames, and exercise names stay on your computer unless you export and share them. Online services are still used for connection signaling, access verification, updates, and optional consented telemetry.
The founding pilot is intentionally small and supported. I want to learn whether the complete workflow holds up across several weeks of real repeated use—not just whether it works once on my machine.
